French fries are a popular and loved snack all over the world and are eaten as a snack or a side dish. French fries are made from potatoes and are very high in sodium content and oil which can be unhealthy for us and if eaten on a regular basis can lead to obesity. They are served in a lot of restaurants and are often paired with pizzas and burgers too. ​Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet potato fries are a perfect replacement for French fries as their texture is pretty much the same as that of French fries. Also Sweet potatoes are a food full of fiber and vitamins. To make these fries, cut the sweet potatoes into long rectangular pieces. Marinate them in olive oil, a pinch of salt and pepper and some herbs like basil or rosemary. Let them sit for about 10 minutes and put them in the oven to bake at 180 degree Celsius for about 20 minutes. After they are ready, you can eat them with a fresh homemade dip. (Image: istock)

​Zucchini Fries

For making these, slice the zucchini and make sure that they are dry as it will help you make better crunchy fries. Take a bowl and beat 1 egg till fluffy. Add seasoning like oregano, chili flakes, garlic powder and a pinch of salt to the beaten egg. Dip the slices of zucchini in the egg batter and lay them on the oven tray. Bake them for 25 minutes and in between keep flipping them over so that they are cooked evenly. These go best with a fresh cucumber and mayonnaise dip. (ImageL istock)

​Apple Fries

Apple fries are light, sweet and salty snacks which will be loved by children. To prepare these, in a bowl mix ½ cup of milk, ¾ cup of flour, 1 small egg, ½ teaspoon baking powder and 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt. Dip the round cut slices of apple in this batter before putting them on a pan with little oil. Flip them till the time they don’t cook perfectly and turn golden in colour. Now they are ready to eat. Spinach Chips

These spinach chips are healthy, baked and very easy to make. First you need to wash the spinach leaves and let them dry. After they dry completely, transfer them into a bowl and add olive oil and make sure that each leaf is marinated with olive oil. Then line the leaves on an oven tray covered with baking paper. In a small bowl, mix salt, red chili powder, garlic powder and oregano. Sprinkle this mixture on the leaves and leave them to bake For 15 minutes at 180 degree Celsius. (Image: istock)

Eggplant Chips

This recipe is a must-try if you’re trying to lose weight because this one is prepared in an air fryer and thus has very low calories. For making these chips, wash the eggplant and then slice it thinly marinate the slices with olive oil and a spice mix of your choice. You can choose any of the spice mixes mentioned in the above recipes. Let them sit for 20 minutes and then leave them in the air fryer for 15 minutes.
