5 foods that will keep you hydrated during winter

We are all too aware that with the onset of the winter season, our water consumption goes down. Despite knowing how important it is to keep our bodies well hydrated, we often don’t stress much on drinking water during winter as much as we do during summer. But not staying well hydrated can take a toll on your immune system, body temperature, joint paint, etc.

Apart from having water, here are some water loaded veggies that will help you stay hydrated this winter.

​Spinach

Densely rich in various nutrients, spinach is amazing for your skin, hair and helps retain water in your body during the cold season. Green leafy vegetables have more than 90 per cent water. Not just this, spinach is also loaded with lutein, potassium, fibre, folate and vitamin E. All this makes spinach the perfect food to be consumed during winters.

​Tomatoes

Used to make several curries and lentils, tomatoes are one of the most commonly used vegetables. It is packed with 90 per cent water content, which helps the body to stay nourished from within. Tomatoes assist in weight loss. The best part about them is, you can consume them raw as well.

​Bell peppers

Yellow and green bell pepper have high water content and thus work wonder in keeping you hydrated. As per studies, bell pepper has 93.9 per cent water. It also has Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, beta-carotene, thiamine and folic acid.

​Cauliflower

Keto friendly and a favourite of many, cauliflower is the favourite vegetable of many. It can be included in salads, soups, curries and rice. The veggie is also loaded with water. A cup of chopped cauliflower can provide you with 50ml of water.

Olive oil

We all know olive oil is one of the best oil choices to cook veggies in. Olive oil is rich in nutrients like vitamin E, good fats and moisturises your body from inside. Applying olive oil on the skin can help you keep your skin nourished, which makes olive oil a wonderful moisturiser for winters.
