Doha: Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry have launched a home licence scheme to encourage Qatari entrepreneurs to a permit that will allow them conduct commercial activities from their homes.

The home licence represents a drive towards expansion and development of entrepreneurial projects, which eventually contribute to the country’s economic development and diversification process.

To obtain the home licence, interested entrepreneurs can apply and submit all the relevant documents through a dedicated platform, which will be processed by an MOCI employee at Bedaya Center. The needed documents for applying are shown on the MOCI website.

Also, the Center has provided dedicated staff to attend to inquiries from Qatari entrepreneurs wishing to obtain a home license, guide them through the registration process, and follow up their requests in the ministry until the licenses are issued.

The initiative will save time and effort for entrepreneurs and center employees, in addition to granting them a free subscription for a month in the “Dukan“ Bedaya, allowing them to display their products (food and beverages are excluded), and the opportunity to participate in the center’s activities in promoting their businesses.

Speaking about the initiative, Bedaya Center Board Member and Acting General Manager Abdulla Faleh Al Saeed, said, “This initiative comes in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to support the efforts made by the center to motivate entrepreneurs to start their home projects within the legal procedures. Our partnership with the ministry will definitely help upcoming entrepreneurs to spread and expand the presence of their products and services not only on social media platforms, but in all retail stores under the license that they will obtain, which gives them moral and material support at the same time.”

“This initiative also aims to help entrepreneurs to innovate, develop and support their capabilities and skills, to invest in their own projects, which come within the framework of the MOCI and Bedaya Center to create an investment environment and stimulate opportunities for Qataris towards productivity and self-employment,” he added.
